original c. 1940's american industrial folded and pressed light weight steel four-legged stool salvaged from a chicago machine shop. the stationary stool has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the unusual backrest with unique profile is slightly contoured with an arch top opening above the seat. the four angled steel legs are reinforced with two sets of horizontal stretchers. the chair or stool is attributed to the royal metal mfg. co., chicago, il. measures approximately 14 x 14 x 31 1/2 inches with a seat height of 21 inches.
