late 1940's american vintage industrial single-sided die cut steel "safety glasses" cautionary or warning sign designed and fabricated by the ready-made sign company, new york city, ny. the heavy gauge enameled steel sign contains the "universal" danger device, in the form of an elongated red oval containing the word "danger." the sign was salvaged from a non-extant general electric factory located on the far west side of chicago. the safety glasses danger sign measures 12 x 24 inches.
