original and intact c. 1900's american victorian era interior residential fireplace surround with matching figural summer cover depicting deeply embossed deer surrounded by a natural setting. the stamped and/or pressed summer cover is comprised of tin with original highly desirable oxidized copper-plated finish intact. the ornamental surround is made of cast iron with similar surface treatment. the fire-front assembly was designed and fabricated by the peerless mfg. co., louisville, ky. measures 24 x 30 inches.
