exceptional refinished antique american ornamental cast iron c. 1860's interior residential black enameled fireplace summer cover and matching arch top surround designed and fabricated by james l. jackson & brothers, new york city, ny., and conover & woolley, new york city, ny. the arch top surround and perforated summer cover or grate have been completely striped and refinished with a baked-on enameled black finish. the perforated grille remains in great condition with no cracks or breaks evident. the surround is free from damage. both fireplace accessories were salvaged from an early 1860's chicago three-story mansion located just west of halsted street. priced includes surround and grille. measures 27 1/2 x 32 inches.
