original american craftsman style cast bronze interior residential doorknob backplate possibly fabricated by the penn hardware co., reading, pa. the pattern is believed to be "mineola." very unusual and hard to find. dimpled finish or field pattern is accentuated with faux rivet heads found along the edges. original privacy lock finger-twist intact. nice and uniform surface patina. likely dates to the late 1920's. measures approximately 10 1/4 x 2 3/4 inches. contains an oil-rubbed metallic bronze enameled finish.
