unique early 1920's antique american industrial diminutive fanciful cast iron four-legged "kalmazoo pumping system" machine base designed and fabricated by the national water lift company, kalamazoo, mich. the robust lightweight low-lying base has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the outswept feet contain round foot pads for added stability. the pumping engine was designed to to pump soft rainwater from residential cisterns. the original stamped brass plaque specifying model, etc. is riveted against the front of the base. the machine base is free from breaks or cracks.
