late 1880's original and completely intact american victorian era interior residential varnished oak wood stick-and-ball rectangular-shaped fretwork panel attributed to the northwestern grilleworks, chicago, il. the double-sided well-maintained panel contains a series of vertical rods interconnected with balls accentuated with incised lines. the offset arrangement is most impressive. the old varnished finish is largely intact and uniform. salvaged from a chicago victorian brick cottage undergoing interior renovations. measures approximately 35 1/2 x 2 x 8 inches.
