highly collectible and hard to find vintage american industrial draftsman or student reading lamp featuring a fully adjustable tubular brass arm. likely fabricated around 1892-1900 by the dale electric co., new york city, ny. the original "antique copper" plated finish remains largely intact. the general electric (g.e. co.) socket (containing edison patents) with paddle switch has been rewired with period appropriate brown colored braided cloth cord. contains a highly stylized and collectible cranberry glass shade (not original to the fixture). bent tubular brass arm and knurled edge dials original and intact. weighted base comprised of solid cast iron with a centrally located threaded hole designed to support the upright pole. excellent overall condition.
