late 1920's depiction of prominent downtown chicago buildings along a famous stretch of michigan avenue with grant park and lake michigan in the foreground. notable buildings include sullivan's gage, cobb's athletic association, tribune tower, jewelers building, stevens hotel, public library, etc. the framed photograph was taken from a painting done by william starbuck macy. the photographers were kaufmann & fabry, who did a great deal of architectural work in and around chicago. the original frame and glass remains in great overall condition. dates to 1927.
