original 19th century antique american aesthetic movement ornamental cast bronze "ivy" pattern reversible window shutter latch designed and patented by john j. kennedy of branford, ct. the shutter door hardware was salvaged from the extant david c. cook mansion, located in elgin, il. the matching intact and original shutter door latch and keeper were fabricated by branford lock works, branford, ct. original baked black enameled inlay remains partially intact.
