weston electric instrument corp., newark, nj.
completely refinished c. 1920's american industrial wall-mount cylindrical-shaped cast iron analog volt-milliammeter gauge designed (under multiple patents) and fabricated by the weston electric instrument corp., newark, nj. the voltmeter retains the original cast iron wall-mount pivoting or swinging bracket that was attached to a massive basement switchboard panel. standard voltmeters are used for measuring electrical potential difference between two points in a given electric circuit. the analog type (as show above) contains a pointer that moves along a scale in proportion to the voltage of the circuit. the face plate, housing and bracket have been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. salvaged from an old milwaukee factory complex basement switchboard.
