phenomenal early 20th century american industrial robust double-sided classroom carpentry shop workbench or table fabricated by the e.h. sheldon co., muskegon, mi. the four-legged base is comprised largely of maple, with solid white oak wood stretchers. the single pull-out drawer retains the original brushed steel "cup" handles. the original dual rapid-acting vises with handle grips are comprised of iron. the remarkable table top is made mostly of "bolt-thru" cherry wood with maple edges. the centrally located recessed tray with single compartment divides the two work spaces. the heavy duty industrial workbench has been thoroughly cleaned and refinished. measures 52 x 36 x 32 inches.
