c. 1920's all original heavy duty american antique industrial cast iron salvaged chicago dumbwaiter assembly designed and fabricated by the sedgewick machine works, new york city, ny. the oversized "steampunk" mechanical device was painstakingly salvaged from an early 1920's northwestern university dormitory before its demolition. the unique device contains two opposed oversized single sheave sprockets, along with multiple gears, axles, etc. the nicely weathered surface patina is mostly uniform throughout.
