late 1930's original and in demand american vintage industrial compact interior hotel room "fireproof" side table or nightstand likely fabricated by the simmons manufacturing company for the superior "sleeprite" corp., chicago, il. the compact side table contains four tubular square-shaped legs with intact steel disc levelers or "feet." the side table features a single pull-out drawer and undershelf for additional storage. the circular-shaped knob pull is original to the cabinet. the all-welded joint nightstand has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer to prevent surface corrosion. great condition. measures approximately 15 1/2 x 15 1/2 x 30 inches.
