impressive late 19th century american victorian era varnished oak wood residential fluted columns with largely intact composition capitals

matching set of original antique american victorian era varnished oak wood fluted and tapered interior residential freestanding "room divider" columns or colonnades. the four-sided ionic capitals are ornamented with delicate pressed gesso or composition ornament, consisting of anthemions, egg & dart trim, volutes and other neoclassical design elements. the columns were salvaged from a chicago graystone residence built in the 1890's. the lock stave oak wood columns remain in very good condition, considering age. fabricated by the decorators supply co., chicago, il. measure 70 1/4 inches in height. priced for the pair.
