hard to find late c. 1930's vintage amercian industrial freestanding coat rack with combination umbrella stand. typically found in the barbershop or physician's office. the base is comprised of heavy gauge bent tubular steel legs with a riveted joint ring and concealed dish for umbrella storage. the large pinched steel double hooks are affixed to a rotating band of wrought steel mounted on a central pole. manufactured by barber supply company emil j. paidar of chicago, il. contains a brushed metal finish sealed with a clear coat lacquer. salvaged from a city of chicago barbershop. the photographic montage represents the barbershop from which the coat rack was removed from. measures 70 x 20 inches.
