original and intact c. 1940's antique american industrial red enameled multi-drawer "springs" cabinet designed and fabricated by the gardner wire company, chicago, ills. the multi-drawer cabinet contains multiple matching pull-out drawers with opposed steel handles. the original identification labels remain intact. the cherry red enameled finish remains in great shape, with typical surface wear evident. the "springs" cabinet was salvaged from the zim mfg. company factory. founded in 1919, the zim manufacturing company specialized in the manufacture of automobile specialty tools and gauges, housewares, and other hand tools. the extant factory is located on the far west side of chicago.
