late 1880's original american ornamental cast brass "ceylon" pattern interior residential pocket door escutcheon designed and fabricated by the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the flush mount backplate contains a deeply recessed "cup" handle with skeleton keyhole. a metallic bronze enameled inlay was added to accentuate the fine casting detail. measures approximately 4 1/2 x 2 inches.
