c. 1890's original american victorian era decorative cast iron interior residential surface mount passage door backplate or escutcheon designed and fabricated by p. & f. corbin or possibly the reading hardware company. the single ornamented iron backplate contains a mostly uniform brushed metal finish. the thimble or collar remains in great condition. the escutcheon contains a single skeleton keyhole and two opposed screw holes for mounting purposes. 1.5" x 5.5".
