original and intact antique american ornamental cast iron interior residential fireplace coal grate featuring a centrally located figural "green man" face. the exact fabricator is not known. the grate is comprised of iron with a mostly uniform gold enameled finish. the four diminutive legs and detachable grille are intact. salvaged from a chicago residence undergoing demolition.
