massive american depression era salvaged chicago factory machine shop workbench or table with nicely worn and weathered pine wood top. the long and narrow table contains a detachable pressed and folded steel drawer with cup handles. the cast iron base is comprised of steel and iron pipes with stretcher rods. the workbench has been lightly refinished. the structurally sound and sturdy shop table was salvaged from the zim mfg. company factory. founded in 1919, the zim manufacturing company specialized in the manufacture of automobile specialty tools and gauges, housewares, and other hand tools. the extant factory is located on the far west side of chicago. 10 ft x 28 x 36 inches
