pair of original antique american 19th century eastlake style ornamental cast iron "windsor" pattern doorknob backplates designed and fabricated by the reading hardware company. reading, pa. each backplate contains a single skeleton keyhole, ornamented protruding thimble and two opposed screw holes for mounting flush against a passage door. the doorknob escutcheons have been refinished and treated with a clear coat lacquer. measure approximately 5 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches. priced for the pair.
