unique vintage american single-sided die cut steel "one way" chicago street sign fabricated by or for the american automobile association, chicago, il. the heavy gauge steel sign contains deeply embossed black enameled lettering against an all white background. the large directional arrow is prominently displayed above "chicago motor club." surface wear evident. the chicago motor clubvis local chapter of the american automobile association in chicago, illinois. the motor club sponsored the first elgin national road race in 1909, and pioneered the concept of school safety patrols in 1920. measures 18 x 24 inches.
