hundreds of world war ii ammunition plant "explosion proof" green porcelain enameled industrial fixtures acquired by urban remains

late last week urban remains acquired a massive quantity of highly desirable 1940's american industrial "explosion proof" hanging ceiling-mount light fixtures once used to illuminate the interior of a sprawling midwestern munitions plant used to fabrication artillery shells for the war effort.

the completely intact and fully functional fixtures were designed and fabricated by both the appleton electric company and crouse-hinds. each fixture is equipped with the original impact-resistant threaded end glass globe. the socket housings are comprised of heavy duty cast aluminum. the cold-rolled steel reflectors are finished in "factory green," with white undersides.

the recently acquired lot of industrial fixtures are available in different sizes (e.g., diameter of reflectors or shades) and overall configuration. the clear glass globes vary in shape and size. several matching fixtures in each style available. the fixtures were removed from the plant's trusses shortly before the complex was deactivated and later demolished.
