documenting a post-fire chicago row house where time stood still

for several decades, a maze of cramped and cluttered rooms and hallways hidden within a west side post-fire chicago (1872) italianate rowhouse have remained largely unaltered. despite being dissected into multiple "apartments" during the 1930's, defining architectural elements such as the marble mantels, solid walnut staircase, and multi-part pine wood moldings are still amazingly intact, offering a rare glimpse of the house as it appeared shortly after being constructed in 1872.
over the past few weeks i've taken hundreds of images of the building's interior to ensure a thorough and detailed visual record is made of any and all of the original period architectural elements with an emphasis placed on visual characteristics representing changes (i.e., intentional or unintentional patination) over the course of time.
