latest bldg. 51 museum and chicago architectural ornament archive acquisitions

the following acquisitions (see images below), in the form of architectural building fragments, photographic images, and, miscellaneous ephemera, represent a fraction of historically important materials recently added to the bldg. 51 museum and its newly formed sister organization focusing architectural ornament and ephemera (website for the latter will be launched in the fall of 2018) from the first chicago school.

when time permits, detailed captions will be assigned to every item added to the blog as well as the new site. while the majority of materials belong to the bldg. 51 museum, i've included images of ornament and photographs sourced from both private and public collections, including, but not limited to, the ryerson and burnham library, john vinci, and eric j. nordstrom.

additional collections from public institutions are currently being digitized and will be added in the near future. taken together, i hope to make any and all of this material (photographic form in the first phase) available to architectural historians, scholars, students, institutions, and architects.
