demolition? seriously? a friend of mine shared a facebook post pertaining to the possible demise of this largely intact 19th century residence, outfitted with early red slip terra cotta ornament (note the lion head rondel on the pediment) likely executed by thr northwestern terra cotta, will be demolished to make way for a 22-story high-rise.
i need to reshoot (the images aren't great) and research this residence to determine build date, architect, and so on.
update as of 3-25-2019:
according to the 1884 issue of american architect and architecture, the three-story house was built at a cost of 10,000 dollars for catherine price. f.b. townsend is listed as architect on record. the builder was c.h. moses.
more to follow when i run across additional information and take more images.
