assortment of original chicago privy dug conical-shaped or "cone" ink wells unearthed from residential privy "vaults" or pits located on various demolition sites. the mouth-blown two-piece hinge mold ink cones contain smooth bases with a few featuring manufacturer markings in the form of embossed lettering. the salvaged ink wells have been lightly cleaned, but not tumbled. traces of dried ink provides added color and character to the glass vessels. the diminutive ink wells were fabricated by several bottlers. sanford's ink wells are the most frequently found in the privy pits we have discovered. priced for the lot.
