amazingly intact and all original weathered and worn fret-sawn pine wood exterior chicago commercial building facade sill or belt course ornament attributed to the baumer & slomer company, chicago, ills. the delicate wood ornament was carefully salvaged from a chicago building believed to have been built between 1878-1884. the wood ornament contains several layers of paint, with the topmost layer containing allover crazing. the uniquely-shaped applique features floral motifs flanking a centrally located rondel or "bullseye." multiple fragments and entire section of the sill course are available.
