original and intact 19th century interior residential staircase ornamental cast iron staircase handrail support bracket likely fabricated by sargent or possibly the p. & f. corbin company. the heavy duty solid metal bracket contains a total of five pre-drilled screw holes for mounting against the wall and underside of the handrail. mostly uniform surface patina. measures approximately 5 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches.
