19th century american victorian era carved cherry wood fireplace mantel featuring two tapered columns with decorative capitals. the salvaged chicago fireplace mantel was likely fabricated by chas. f. lorenzen & co., chicago, ills. the intact residential fireplace with large firebox opening retains the original stained finish over cherry wood. surface wear and tear consistent with age.
