original early antique american ornamental pewter metal passage size doorknob with a distinctive footed shank. the exact hardware fabricator is not known. the matching rosette was lost long ago. the deeply grooved floral motifs show very little signs of wear, considering age. the allover gold leaf finish remains largely intact. measures approximately 2 1/4 inches in diameter.
