19th century antique american made interior residential "geometric" pattern passage door escutcheon or backplate fabricated by f.c. linde & co., cresskill, nj. the doorknob backplate is comprised of cast iron with a uniform brushed metal finish. contains a single keyhole, two screw holes and a decorative thimble. measures approximately 5 x 1 5/8 inches.
