hard to find early safety first single-sided lithographed tin fire precaution informational sign salvaged from the basement of the old william j. scown bldg. company warehouse built by the standard oil company of indiana in 1914 with r. c. fletcher as architect. the baked enameled tin warning sign contains bold off-white lettering against an all black background. the sign was likely fabricated by or for the standard oil company of indiana. the safety first "halting hand" logo is prominently displayed in the top left corner. measures 11 x 8 1/2 inches.
