late 1920's american vintage industrial reinforced galvanized steel "bell system" lineman's tool box fabricated by or for the bell telephone system., u.s.a. the portable handheld tool box contains a nicely worn and weathered red paint finish. the original stamped yellow brass "bell system" identification plaque or label is found directly above the lockable hasp. intact drop handle comprised of bent steel rod. the interior contains a detachable compartmentalized tray. measures 12 1/2 x 8 x 6 inches.
