oversized c. 1940's original american industrial die cut steel baked enameled "die truck route" cautionary sign salvaged from a massive general electric company factory located in the chicago area. the sign is attributed to the stonehoue sign company of denver, co. the heavy gauge steel sign contains a black enameled background with bright yellow lettering. die trucks were a common factory fixture in this general electric plant. the trucks were used to load and/or transport remarkably heavy objects (e.g., 100,000 pound injection molds) from one point to another. surface wear consistent with age. measures approximately 24 x 18 inches.
