structurally sound and finely built heavy cast iron and heavy gauge tubular steel factory machine shop commercial fan base designed and fabricated by or for the general electric company, schenectady, ny. the x-shaped four-legged stationary base features a series of closely spaced and deeply grooved parallel lines emanating from the center. the telescoping upright post extends upwards and downwards with ease. the original pivoting joint bracket used to support the fan remains intact. great design potential. the brushed metal finish has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. base measures 23 inches in diameter and 60 inches in height.
