one of two original and intact safety first die cut steel rectangular-shaped bright green "keep gates closed" safety first sign designed and fabricated by the stonehouse steel sign company, denver, co. the rounded edge sign retains the original steel grommets surrounding the mounting holes. the single-sided sign was salvaged from an early 20th century standard oil of indiana distribution building (later acquired by a. finkl & sons) undergoing demolition. the sign features the highly sought after "halting hand" logo or graphic used in the safety first awareness campaign. two identical signs are available. great overall condition, considering age. measures 6 x 28 inches.
