remarkably intact and all original late 19th or early 20th century antique american victorian era stained glass interior residential transom window designed and fabricated by the foster-munger company, chicago, il. the long and narrow transom features a centrally located elegant palmette design motif surround by curvaceous scrolls. the leaded glass window is composed of solid color cathedral glass with a rippled texture. two opposed diminutive round jewels and beveled glass are used to accentuate the colorful ensemble. the surrounding glass panels contain a "glue chip" treatment with a frost-like finish. the custom-built frame is structurally sound and sturdy. the transom window was salvaged from a chicago residence undergoing demolition. measures approximately 52 1/4 x 1 1/4 x 20 1/2 inches.
