early to mid-1850's antique american original james kennedy teal-colored glass mineral water pontiled bottle possibly fabricated by eagle or the phoenix glass works. the privy dug bottle contains a deep pontil base with visible traces of iron deposits left from the iron pontil rod. the embossed lettering is both clear and legible. the body contains the bottler's name, the type of contents and the city it was bottled in. the long and narrow neck was finished off with an applied "blob top" collar or lip. the bottle is free from cracks, chips and/or other major flaws. whittle marks are in abundance around the neck. the overall crudity is exceptional.
