original late 1940's unrestored america vintage industrial stationary factory machinist stool designed and fabricated by the pollard brothers, chicago, il. the reinforced heavy gauge angled iron base contains riveted joints for added stability. the original popular "pollard green" baked enameled finish over iron remains largely intact. the lightweight factory stool contains a slightly contoured backrest made of maple wood and supported by two bent steel brackets mounted on the underside of the chair. the circular-shaped seat is comprised of solid maple wood with wear consistent with age. excellent unrestored condition. several nearly identical stools salvaged from the same sheet metal stamping factory located in the chicago area. base measures 13 1/2 inches, seat height measures 21 inches with backrest at 35 inches, seat diameter measures 14 inches.
