two matching c. 1920's white porcelain enameled marquee sign letters. manufactured by the federal sign system (electric) co., chicago, il. the heavy gauge, fire-fused porcelain enameled sign letters measures 24 inches in height. according to early 20th century trade periodicals, porcelain enameled steel was very satisfactory as a sign material. the durable "weatherproof" letters were considered excellent reflectors with very little maintenance required. surfaces were very easy to clean. each letter is priced individually. surface wear consistent with age.
