Product Description

c. 1930's american traveling salesman sample changeable letter set likely used for advertising purposes (e.g., customized sign boards, etc). the large lot consists of a variety of letters, punctuation marks and/or numerals comprised of ceramic with embedded steel pins. the original hand-painted finish remains largely intact. the character sets vary in style and size. the ceramic letters and/or numbers are pinned tightly against a weathered cardboard inset originally contained within a badly dilapidated pull-out drawer. the fabricator is not known. the mounting board measures approximately 21 x 14 inches. priced for the group as depicted in the picture.
