hard to find and highly sought after all original antique american travelling salesman sample celluloid pocket mirror and/or paperweight manufactured by the parisian novelty co., chicago, il. the button's colorful graphic proudly displays the parisian company's newly-built factory (still extant) located near 35th and western, chicago, il. the "spirit of good will" is found directly above the linbergh-type plane flying above the factory. the button's vividly colored factory setting is based on the architectural hand-drawn rendering executed by h.d. jenkins (the original drawing is currently housed in the bldg. 51 museum). measures 3 1/2 inches in diameter. the mirror on the reverse side, remains in great shape. the pocket mirrors were presumably issued by special sales representative m.j. kennedy of the northwest bank building located in minneaplis, mn., as "salesman samples." their factory complex - located near the central manufacturing district - was constructed in 1927.
