hard to find original and unusual double riveted joint plaques designed and fabricated by or for the variety mfg. co., chicago, ills. the backplate is comprised of iron, with a steel embossed letter plaque mounted above a larger stamped yellow brass plaque identifying the manufacturer. the assemblage was salvaged from an old freight elevator formerly used in the machine shop and factory of the roberts electric company, chicago, ills. great condition with nicely aged surface patina. only one available. the plaque was mounted flush against the freight elevator door.
