19th century dawson brothers ornamental cast iron interior residential fireplace insert with grille and protruding hood. the insert was designed and fabricated by the dawson brothers, chicago, ills. the decorative fireplace insert is completely intact with all detachable pieces intact. the antique american victorian era fireplace insert was salvaged from a chicago house built in the 1890's. the old gray paint finish contains wear consistent with age.
