rare casebound ward lock & tyler educational series, “the illustrated architectural and engineering drawing book”, by robert scott burn, published by ward, lock & co., in london and and new york. there are upwards of 300 illustrations “for the use of schools, students and artisans”. the 144 pages of architectural drawings and scenic illustrations are depicted with the aim of “showing how drawings---whether architectural, engineering, or mechanical—may be copied and laid down”. the cover and back are grained leather with decorative motifs embossed around a gold lettered title and illustration. an inscription on the front endpaper dates it to 1890. in good condition, with some pages dog-eared and a somewhat loose binding. the spine is intact and in good condition, even retaining the gold-lettered title. at the back of the drawing book is a 16 page catalogue of illustrated and fine art volumes from ward, lock & co. measures 5 ½ x 8 ¼ inches.
