hard to find all original and intact ornamental cast iron interior residential fireplace mantel salvaged from a chicago italianate style residence undergoing demolition. the multi-part cast iron mantel with curvaceous shelf has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the mantel contains a desirable arch top opening. the sealed iron mantel piece is in great overall condition with no breaks or cracks. the ornamnetal cast iron keystone is original and intact. the 1870's mantel was executed by the c.b. evans & co., cincinnati, oh.
