rare softcover periodical from october 1931, “the architectural record” vol. 70 no. 4, published monthly by f.w. dodge corporation, in new york. in good condition, has slight wear on edges and a small stain on the lower left cover. there are 128 pages of rich b&w image and text as well as a handful of color inserts. full page advertisements showcase hardware and fixtures of the day, and articles cover topics like “unemployment and community planning” and “trends in lighting”. the metallic silver cover shows an art deco edifice, the 500 fifth avenue office tower in new york, which was built in 1929, designed by the firm of shreve, lamb, & harmon. it served as the original transmitter site for cbs radio’s new york city fm station in 1941. as of 2010 it was designated a nyc landmark. measures 9 x 12 inches.
