rare turn of the century single-sided antique american hanging storefront reverse-painted "eyes examined" black and gold leaf enameled glass optician trade sign

exceptional and amazingly intact early 1900's single-sided hanging reverse-painted reinforced plate glass optometrist and/or eye doctor storefront window trade sign possibly fabricated by the art glass novelty co., dundee, mi. the oversized hanging sign with original metal brackets was removed from the office of doctor milton dalin, who's practice was located in west allis, wisc. the impressive trade sign advertises eyes examined and glassed fitted. the thick plate glass optician trade sign retains the original black with gilt or metallic gold leaf lettering. minor flaking or paint loss evident. the period sign brackets were manufactured by the s. & j. mfg. co. of detroit, mi. the antique american trade sign measures 22 x 16 inches.
